Mens 3's beat top of the League Surbiton!
Well done guys you deserve your victory. Having lost a couple of games to weaker opposition you knew something needed to be done, you asked more from yourselves, made the necessary investment in time and energy and got the help you asked for.
Ben has given us some extra time by moving our training to wednesday night and we swallowed our pride and responded well - hopefully we will be out of 'special needs' shortly!
There was some real fight out there this week, not expressed verbally but physically and intelligently. As a result there were plenty of candidates vying for Man of the Match - Bean, Bibs and Nat were at the fore.
All 3 had their best games in 'my experience' with this team; Bibs showing some poise & patience (scoring the second goal), Bean, as well as being a top captain and passionate leader of the team, played a match winning role on the pitch (particularly on the right wing), but Nat you came away with the honour - an all round strong performance, massively well done.
Brett & Cookie also deserve a mention as they have the toughest job on the field and when it goes well it is very likely that they played an important role - which they did; Brett in his earlier role at left-mid made the pass of the day to the right wing that led to the first goal.
Dick of the Day - Morgs! Who needs a Full Press when Morgs stands in the bottom left corner and shouts for the ball as loud as he can with 2 minutes to go? There was mitigation in an excellence defensive performance but the pint needed to be sank!
Penalties owing - Nats 2 pints (not present for MoM), Bibs 1 pint (ditto).
Lads - well done and see you at training on wednesday. Don't lose your focus.
