Report : Pushing through some icy training sessions these last few weeks was worth it this weekend – the ladies 2A’s came away the ‘Runaway Train’, leaving coaches Tabs and Kiwi literally on their knees looking very proud!

It was a shaky start on the home pitch, mostly down to nerves and knowing we had a close match with them before Christmas. We let a goal in over a scramble by their eager forwards, but that was all they got when the Liz duo in our forward line called for the ball and the defence stepped it up a notch. Guns blazing it was time to turn things around – and the team dug deep for some great possession hockey and ultimately a whole 8 goals! By midway through the second half we had fresh-er legs and fitness on our side and the Wimbledon supporters had lots to cheer for. Lizzie S got a fantastic set of 4 open play goals, Liz B an impressive hatrick yet again, and high fives to Claire Waters for a short corner goal from our left back! Not to mention Jess who once again covered the goals and often raced out to stop the shots and save our bacon – some amazing saves. At final whistle a feel-good 8-1 final score.

Girlie of the Game deservidly awarded to Lizzie S for her 4 goals.
DOD - Faye - for leaving the keys in the ignition.....with the car running and radio on.....strike!!

Another fun weekend on and off the pitch for the 2A’s. Come out and support our big game this weekend – 4.30pm KCS Saturday 27th February against Purley!
