Training & Coaching Update

Fitness training every Wednesday evening, 19:15 at the Club House for a prompt 19:30 start. All welcome.
Started July 13th

With great regret we have to announce that Duncan Woods has decided to move on for next season and so the First Team will be recruiting a new coach. If anybody knows of a good candidate then they should get in touch with the brand spanking new Club Secretary - Jacko (07973615519) or drop an email to the club (wimbledonhockey@hotmail.com). Of course if there are any coaches prowling the site then they should do likewise.

Necessary financial disclaimer to avoid receiving a million speculative overseas applicants: The compensation package is negotiable depending on the candidate's qualifications but no specific relocation allowance is included.

Trials & WHC Social - 3rd Sept

Mens trials are being held at RPH on the 3rd Sept in the afternoon (time to be confirmed). Anyone interested in joining WHC should attend.
Watch this space for the pre-season friendly fixtures.

To kick-off the new season, the Ladies section is having an Open Day on Sept 3rd, with Club Trials followed by a Mens & Ladies BBQ at the club.

More details to follow, but book this in your diary NOW !!!

500 Pint Challenge - 1st Oct

The old favorite is back, which team can drink 500 first?
But this year there is an added twist - To take advantage of those 500 pint beer goggles, there is Team speed dating!!

Don't miss out, keep this date free.

Full details of the Social Calender for 2005-6 are available HERE

New Committee Members

The Committee has had a bit of a shake-up this summer and there are several changes it's worth drawing your attention to. Sandman has stepped up to become Chairman and Monkey has dived back into the club head first as the new Club Secretary. Miss Tina Ablett, Dale and Softer Twinnie remain in their respective roles with Social and Junior Secretaries to be confirmed.

A big thanks to those who have stepped down this year, especially Podge who continues to work behind the scenes on all our behalves on a number of important club issues. Captaincy news will be passed on in due course.

4 WHC sides play in Pizza Express London League Finals

A true sign of the strength in depth of WHC is that 4 Mens Teams made it to the finals of the Pizza Express Cup playoffs. Better still, 2 Teams won their matches to take the title.
Well done to everyone that played, and a big thanks to all the supporters when came down to cheer on the boyz. As usual, the 6XI Bois lead the way by playing first then drinking everything/anything within a mile radius.
